Successful Accreditation

As an approved provider of Government Funded Aged Care, Rosewood can expect at least one unannounced visit a year from a team of Australian Aged Care Quality Agency auditors.

Accreditation is an internationally recognised evaluation process used in many countries to assess the quality of care and services provided in a range of areas such as health care, long term residential aged care, disability services, and non-health related sectors such as child care. Accreditation has been rapidly adopted by health and aged care services worldwide as part of a safety and quality framework.

An unannounced visit is an assessment contact or review audit that is carried out by an assessment team without prior notification to the approved provider.
Unannounced assessment contacts are conducted as part of ongoing roles in monitoring homes and their performance against the Accreditation Standards.

On the 12th of September Rosewood had such an unannounced visit. From 9am till 5pm the auditors looked at Policies and Procedures, interviewed staff, residents and relatives and observed care, dining and activities. They also reviewed all comments and feedback.

Rosewood is pleased to report that the Agency found Rosewood to be compliant in all matters and that staff, residents and families all gave very positive feed-back to the team.
